YUEH-CHI. Kingdom of Khotan. Gurgamoya, 1st century AD. AE (Bronze, 14 mm, 1.24 g, 7 h). MAHARAJA YITIRAJA GUTGASA (in Kharoshthi) Horse standing right. Rev. 'LIU ZHU GIAN' (in Zhuànshū [Hànzì seal script]). Cf. Cribb, Sino-Kharosthi, Group 2. Extremely rare. Minor cleaning scratches and with light deposits, otherwise, about very fine.

The Kingdom of Khotan was a Buddhist kingdom on the Silk Road known in ancient Chinese sources as 'Yutian'. It was located in the Tarim Basin north of Tibet (today's Xinjiang in China).
